On November 2, AOMG artist YUGYEOM embarked on the London stop of his 2023 tour in Europe. Held at the city’s famous TROXY venue, YUGYEOM (with support from DJ Wegun and Coogie) ignited London with an array of his and AOMG’s incredible Korean hip-hop and R&B tracks, plus a delightfully surprising performance of K-Pop group GOT7’s 2016 track “Hard Carry,” much to the excitement of his dedicated fans, many of who have been following his career since his debut as the K-Pop group’s maknae back in 2014, before making his solo debut in 2021.

DJ Wegun opened YUGYEOM’s show, hyping the crowd up with a great selection of remixes that included some K-Pop favourites like NewJeans’s “OMG,” Jung Kook’s “Seven,” and GOT7’s “Lullaby,” as well as a collection of K-Hip-Hop and AOMG favourites such as Jay Park’s “Mommae” and “All I Wanna Do,” and Simon Dominic’s famous self-titled track, “DAx4,” and his collaboration “TTFU” with Loco, Woo, and Coogie, that got the crowd ready and excited for the night’s event.

After a solid thirty to forty-minute DJ set, Coogie entered the stage bringing a whole new level of K-Hip-Hop and swag to the building. Performing the likes of “Right Now,” “Achoo Remix,” and “Good Night,” Coogie’s entire performance was electrifying with him displaying high-class energy and intense rap deliveries that had the audience charmed under his musical spell.

Around 9:00 pm, a VT of YUGYEOM played on the stage screen introducing him before he took to the stage to perform in front of his adoring fans. YUGYEOM’s distinctive vocals and insane dance moves captivated the venue as he performed the tracks of the night’s incredible setlist, opening with one of his most recent songs, “LOLO,” accompanied by his dancers, KyumCrew. Throughout the night, YUGYEOM’s performances did not disappoint. From the likes of “I Want U Around,” “All About You,” “Lights,” “All Your Fault,” and “Ponytail” his vocals were flawless and his overall stage presence exuded exceptional star quality. YUGYEOM also treated the crowd to a couple of unreleased tracks, leaving fans with high anticipation and excitement for the upcoming official releases, as well as a cute yet enticing dance performance of Loco’s 2017 hit, “Party Band.”

As previously mentioned, a standout moment of the night was YUGYEOM’s performance of “Hard Carry.” A well-loved GOT7 track, this song had everyone in the crowd singing, dancing, and vibing along, having thrown a sprinkle of nostalgia into the room. YUGYEOM himself felt excitement, matching the energy of the crowd, when performing this iconic GOT7 track as he could be seen excitedly informing the crowd of his part in the song, saying “my part, my part” before serving his desirable vocals and loveable energy. Up until this point in the show, YUGYEOM’s concert had been providing strong feelings of calmness and sensuality whilst “Hard Carry” took the concert in a completely different direction, injecting a more lively and more energetic aura into the venue.

Coogie reappeared several times during the night, joining YUGYEOM for some exciting collaboration stages where he would add his infectious rap vocals and compelling deliveries to “Take You Down” before later re-joining for the highly energised and intense performances of Jay Park’s massive collaboration tracks, “Who You – Remix” and “119 Remix,” which brought the concert to an electrifying close, but not before YUGYEOM unveiled his impressive, and to some, unexpected, rap skills.

YUGYEOM’s concert in London was an unforgettable night that created some of the best music memories for UK-based K-music fans. Thank you to the team at MAGIC SOUND K-POP for inviting 97nineteen (then known as D.I.O.E) to attend the show and to YUGYEOM, Coogie, and DJ Wegun for bringing their incredible discography to London for one special night.
